LEARN TO PLAY POLO

Greenwich Polo Club is devoted to the growth of the sport of polo in the United States and around the world. We primarily focus on high-goal polo tournaments and hosting teams. For those who are looking to be introduced to playing, there are wonderful clubs in the area to learn polo (see below). However, if you want to take your game to the next level, we evaluate potential players on a case-by-case basis as space and time are limited during the season. We offer clinics on occasion, so stay tuned to our newsletter to hear first when they become available.

Although there is no polo school at GPC, we have a limited lesson/stick & ball program (with appointment May-October), as time permits in between tournaments.

We highly recommend local clubs that offer opportunities year-round...

Anyone can play polo! Do you love horses, but have never played polo before? Are you an athlete who wants to try something new and different? Or maybe you are an experienced player, and want to improve for the upcoming season?

  • Private lessons and group lessons are ideal after you get the hang of it.
  • New England offers both indoor (arena) and outdoor polo.
  • The sport is co-ed
  • After 6 months to a year of practice, you can expect to begin playing chuckers and low goal tournaments

We recommend the following clubs:

Yale Polo (Bethany, CT)

Country Farms (Bethpage, NY)

Haviland Hollow/NYC Polo Club (Patterson, NY)

Farmington Polo Club (Farmington, CT)

Mashomack Polo Club (Pine Plains, NY)
