Home Country: Florida, USA
How many years playing the sport: I started playing as soon as I could swing the mallet and I became a professional at 15.
Pre-game ritual: None.
You travel around the world for polo. Which destination has been your favorite? I’ve been able to play in so many amazing places – I feel very blessed. Every place has its own unique setting so it’s hard to pick one, but playing around Europe was great.
Favorite part of playing polo: The adrenaline, the team chemistry and the overall excitement of the sport.
Favorite local hang-out when playing at Greenwich Polo Club: Pretty much anything on Greenwich Avenue, but somehow every season we always end up at The Red Store/Barn.
Favorite thing to do when not on the field: Going to the beach, playing tennis – I like staying active.
Favorite song: I have my radio usually tuned into CNN or Howard Stern so I’m more of a news guy than a music guy.
If I weren’t a polo player I would be: Well I heard Dos Equis has an opening for “Most Interesting Man in the World…”
Favorite all-time horse and why? “5”– I bought him when I was 17 and I had a 2-goal handicap and no one really wanted him – he was already 14 years old at that time. I retired him when he was 20 or 21 and I had a 6-goal handicap and I had a great run with him. I ended up giving him to a friend’s daughter, and when he was 26 years old he won BPP in a women’s tournament. He was just a great horse and he ended up having a really long career.
